Position Title:            Project Manager

Position Location:    Akron/Cleveland, OH

Salary Range:            $70,000 - $90,000/year

 

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified project manager to plan and manage projects, including a wide range of community planning, parks, trails, green infrastructure and institutional site development planning and design projects.  This position will provide both technical and client management project leadership. 

 

As a Project Manager at Environmental Design Group you will:

 

  • Supervises employees directly or indirectly, provides frequent direction on project tasks, budgets, schedules, and deliverables. Reviews, mentors, develops and manages staff's performance to both project's and company's goals and expectations.
  • Manage all activities for assigned projects, including scheduling work, project budgets, directing the activities of other staff and subconsultants, establish and monitor quality requirements, ensuring client satisfaction, and integration across all areas of work. Report in project budgets variances to appropriate management individual, along with plan for bringing project back into budget compliance.
  • Ensure project communication and coordination between staff members and clients. Prepare project documents and regular status reports.  Maintain regular contact with clients, regulatory agencies, and other outside groups.  Will make formal presentations to clients, public and regulatory agencies on a regular basis.
  • Understand target market and client business models. Collectively market to perspective clients and existing client base.  Market at outside venues, trade shows, professional organizations.
  • Prepare proposals and determine project requirements, budget, deliverables, and scope based on project plan. Identify potential funding sources.  
  • Support and implement employee programs that foster a positive work environment and help develop each employee to their full potential
  • Adhere to the Company's Quality Control Performance Standards

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Landscape Architecture, Surveying, Planning or related field.
  • Experience: 7-12 years
  • Certifications: PE, RLA, PS, AICP, or other appropriate certification as necessary is required.
  • Exquisite communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and creative thinking
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills in a team-oriented environment

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Work hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional evening work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day.

 

Supervisor Responsibility

This position will review, mentor, develop and manage staff's performance to both project's and company's goals and expectations.
